Two Spirit Health Services was founded in April 2011 and began services in September 2013. Founders Robert and Dr. David Baker-Hargrove wanted to establish a place where Central Florida’s gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community, who are on disability or without insurance, can get mental health and other related services free of cost.
When the Pulse nightclub massacre occurred, a significant need arose for mental health services in Spanish among those most affected by the tragedy that could not be fully met by the organization without an injection of new funds. On the fall of 2016, CONTIGO gave Two Spirit a $15K grant toward that need.
