For the 10-year remembrance of Pulse, Contigo Fund is directing community support to Orlando United Resiliency Services (OURS), housed at The LGBT+ Center Orlando.
OURS, formerly known as the Orlando United Assistance Center (OUAC), was created to support people impacted by the Pulse tragedy and is now part of The Center’s broader work to serve the LGBT+ community, the Orlando community, and people navigating trauma, violence, hardship, and recovery.
Here for them, for you, for anyone who needs help.
The Center describes OURS as a healing place and space for those who need support. Ten years after Pulse, that support still matters.
What OURS Provides
OURS offers long-term, community-rooted support for people directly and indirectly impacted by Pulse, including survivors, families, loved ones, first responders, and community members who were physically, emotionally, or psychologically harmed.
The program also supports people who have experienced trauma, crime, violence, exploitation, abuse, harassment, exclusion, or other forms of hardship.
Through education, advocacy, support, case management, and community connection, OURS helps people navigate needs related to:
Mental, emotional, and physical health
Family relationships
Financial hardship
Employment
Housing
Transportation
Immigration or legal issues
Stability, belonging, and connection
Healing does not follow one timeline. Some people connected to support immediately after Pulse. Some may reconnect after years away. Some may only now be reaching for care, resources, or a place that understands why the impact did not end when public attention moved on.
Why We Are Directing Support to OURS
Public remembrance should move people toward care, visibility, and long-term community support. During this 10-year remembrance, we are asking partners, donors, workplaces, foundations, giving circles, businesses, faith communities, families, and friends to help sustain continued Pulse-impacted care through The LGBT+ Center Orlando and Orlando United Resiliency Services.
These services have had to fight for public support. Care rooted in the long-term aftermath of Pulse should not have to be defended, replaced, or rebuilt every remembrance year.
A gift to OURS helps sustain local, survivor-centered, trauma-informed support for people affected by Pulse and for others in our community navigating trauma, instability, and recovery.
